Farewell

Farewell…
I whispered farewell to infinite moments,
Flashes in time made of joy and tears…
A mirage of life and loitering hours
Are scattered behind me torn and seared.
Regrets abound and delusions many,
Deception lies in settled dust,
I live with their memories…The defense, if any,
To all, but myself, I have been just.
I watched the love that I long ago planted,
And carefully nurtured by my hand,
Into the mist with yesterday perish.
Like leaves into fall in colors so grand…
There is a moment in HERE and the NOW…
It filled up the void in my heart,
But for a second I was confounded;
Is there a farewell in the cards?
Or am I rekindling the flames of tomorrow,
And yesterday’s nightmares I see depart….
