A Dream Come True
By Judy Bea

I'm an easy-going girl, I didn't date much, but was out there. I hadn't been in a long term relationship for years. My co-worker Tim saw how much I hated the single scene and wanted to fix me up with his buddy Matt. I was very hesitant at first and was cool to the suggestion. The relationship I was in then was going pretty good, then it hit rock bottom. For months the guy had been telling me that he had been divorced. I had planned to eat Thanksgiving dinner at his house, meet his folks and two boys. The night before Thanksgiving, ended it all, he confessed that he wasn't officially divorced and thought I should know because someting may be said at his parents house. Needless to say, the trust was gone and so was I. Tim kept on me about his buddy and I finally gave in. Matt called me one day and we talked in general about a lot of things. Bascially, our likes and dislkes. He sounded like a great guy, but they all do at first. We were to meet at a Chinese Restaurant. I was so nervous mainly because he was my co-workers friend. When I first met him, I could see he was just as nervous as me. We talked and ate. We really had a lot in common. I was casually checking him out. He was dressed great and had a gotee which I totally loved. I could write a book about everything that has happened since then, but to make it short--we fell in love. It was like it was meant to be. We've been together for 11 months. We were together 6 months before he asked me to marry him, but I knew after only a few dates he was the guy for me. We are getting married in June 2003. Moral to story, don't be negative when it comes to blind dates, go for it, what do you have to lose but a little of your time. Fairy tales can come true, believe me. If you'd ask me a year ago that I'd be getting married, I'll tell you you were nuts. It can happen. Just go for it. Life is too short to spend it all alone, there is someone out there for everyone. I found the most wonderful guy in the world, well, actually my friend Tim did! Live LIFE!!!
