I was so busy looking for a sign
So confused with this life of mine
I nearly missed this little creature that helped me walk
When I couldn’t see, I couldn’t talk

I did not know before I saw him
That he represented more than a whim
A transformation is taking place
And I was too blind to see what was right in front of my face.

When I heard then I understood
Before I didn’t dream that I could
Suddenly my life was filled with butterflies
I didn’t see it, I didn’t realise

Then I read that it was a symbol of new life
The end to hardship and strife
A rebirth, a transformation
All along it had been trying to give me this information.

Now I know I have seen the truth, I know why
My life has been filled with this little guy
You don’t have to die to live again free
Thank you little butterfly for helping me!

I always prayed for a message, a word
I always thought I had not been heard
But it was there all along I was just mislead
Filled with pain and I was dead.

When I saw one that was so white
I knew the choice I had made was right
As I step into my new life, pain replaced with smiles
I wish them well flying many miles.

Friends I have met will stay fast
As I work through my hurtful past
My message is this so pure and clear
You WILL know when someone special is near


You should not doubt or feel unsure
Life has many tricks, and even more
And so it uses this little caterpillar
Just to help when your heart needs a filler

I cannot describe or even say
How I know that this is the day
The time I move on ahead without any fear
Holding my gift to my soul so dear.
