I lay down at night in an empty bed,
I hold my pillow with you in my head.
Pulling the covers up to my neck,
But still the loneliness i cant forget.
I toss and i turn all through the night,
Just missing the feelings of holding you tight.
The alarm goes off but im already up,
Because i cant sleep without the feeling of your touch.
I go to the bathroom to shower and shave,
knowing in my heart its another lonely day.
Now out the door i head to my job, My uniform all wrinkled i look like a slob.
Standing in formation as they call off the role.
Even though i say "here" Im lost in my soul.
The Platoon Sergeant yells..."Attention, Fall out"
But my mind is so far away i dont hear him shout.
And now to an appointment to improcess and check in, and the worst of my day starts to begin. As i stand in line listening for my name, My heart starts to break from all of the pain.
A freind tells a joke that makes me smile It helps ease the pain for a little while.
My appointments over and its time to eat, but i have as much luck with that as i do sleep.
Then its back in line waiting again.
Praying the pain of lonliness will end.......
Now its my name they yell down the hall, But im looking at my watch waiting to call....An now to the phone i walk kind of fast........

To hear your voice at last.......
We talk and we giggle a for a short time
sending our love through a telephone line.
Then we hang up and i start to think.....
Damn sometimes this ARMY life really stinks.
No to formation so they can hand out mail.
A letter from you my heart starts to swell....
I read the words four or five times.
Feeling your love in every line.......
But, Your buddy next to you he starts to cry.
For in his letter His wife says GOODBYE.....
And then i wonder is my letter coming too? But i say NO because of the love between me and you...
then back to the barracks with nothing to do. But stare at the picture of me and you...The lights go out around the block its time for bed as i look at the clock.......I climb in bed and think oh well....another day ends in a Soldiers hell.
