Sonnet On Hyper-Activity
By Brian Matthew DeBoer
When you are full of energy it makes
Me feel as though I ought to plug my cord
Into your holes and use the fuel stored
In you until your bodies circuit breaks.
No one equipped your free spirit with brakes,
So you can't stop yourself when steered toward
An aninmal with no drive, which is bored
Of living his own life - of his mistakes.
You don't let road-kill ground you with it's strife;
Instead you seem to shock it back to life.
It's people of your nature whom inspire
Others to start living their lives with fire
In their hearts; no longer putting out
The energy of people as they pout.
