Edges of A Dream
By Cynthia Adrienne Moore
SwetCyn@aol.com
One must be strong to taste a dream
Once I tasted it’s edges
Free spirit I rode on down soft wings
Breathing pieces of pure pleasure
I lay like a desert soul
Drenched in its watered mirage
Atlas to drink that
Which makes us thirst
Yet for more
Far and in between
Its fresh soil fed the roots
Of a forgotten Rose
Recapturing a beauty lost
Decades ago
In the glow of it’s edges
Among scented light
I shadowed my shyness
Muffled by dancing sounds
It played my echo
As I floated across the sky
Once I tasted the edges of a dream
Its wish of rare passion teasing
The senses of my tongue
It leaves me again
With unknown flavor
To stare in the darkness of night
In my awakened reality
I dare not sleep to dream
For clouds that linger at heaven’s end
Allude us
When we dare to grasp
Still
At all cost, I tasted a dream
Not fearing the fade
But savoring the moment.
